2. Definitions.- In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,-

1. (1)"appointed date" means, the date notified under sub-section (2) of section 1 ;

area comprising the Bangalore City declared under section 8 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (Central Act 2 of 1974) ;]

1. (3)"City Civil Court" means the court established under sub-section (1) of section 3 ;
2. (4)"Court of Small Causes" means a Court of Small Causes established under the Karnataka Small Causes Courts Act, 1964 (Karnataka Act 11 of 1964) for the City of Bangalore ;
3. (5)"High Court" means the High Court of Karnataka ;
4. (6)"Judge" means the Principal City Civil Judge and a City Civil Judge of the City Civil Court ; and
5. (7)"law" includes any enactment, ordinance, regulation, order, bye-law, rules, scheme, notification or every instrument having the force of law.
