Section 22 of The Coinage Act, 2011

No suit or other legal proceedings shall lie against any person in respect of anything which is in good faith done, or intended to be done, under or in pursuance of the provisions of this Act.

2In October 2013, a government inspector named Suresh conducted a search and temporarily seized some metal pieces he honestly believed were intended for illegal coin production. Although the metal pieces were later found to be harmless industrial scraps and returned, the owner could not sue Suresh because Suresh's action was intended to be done in good faith under the Act.
