Section 3 of THE RAJIV GANDHI UNIVERSITY OF HEALTH SCIENCES ACT, 1994

shall be established a university by the name "the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences" with jurisdiction over the whole of the State of Karnataka.

(2)The University shall be a body corporate by the name specified in sub-section (1) and shall have perpetual succession and common seal. It shall have power to acquire, hold and dispose of property, both movable and immovable, and shall sue and be sued by the said name.
(3)In all suits and other legal proceedings, by or against the University, the pleadings shall be singed and verified by the Registrar and all processes in such suits and proceedings shall be issued to and served on the Registrar.
(4)The headquarters of the University

and it may establish additional campuses at such other places with the prior approval of the Government within the State as it may deem fit and appropriate.

(5)The University shall be both a teaching and an affiliating University.
