Section 42 of The SRI PADMAVATHI 1MAHILA VISWA VIDYALAYAM (WOMEN S UNIVERSITY) ACT, 1983.

Appointment of the first Vice-Chancellor - Notwithstanding anything in this Act and the statutes, the first Vice-Chancellor shall be appointed by the Chancellor on a salary to be fixed by him and shall hold office for a period to be fixed by him but not exceeding five years.
